I'm no artist so the descriptions for these images might sound a bit like a child trying to impress a room full of college art students. Bit of a weird... comparison but that's how I feel, haha.
I don't mind 'sexy' designs for women as long as it fits with their character or just makes sense. A great example of this would be Deneb from the Ogre Battle series. It's a sexy design but is completely fitting with her character since she's always flirty and alluring in every game she's in. A more popular character would be Bayonetta, another great character in her own right.
Things I dislike in character designs:
- Young characters in revealing outfits - obviously! But I'm seeing this pop up more and more lately. I don't fucking care if the character is really 21 or 2100 years old either.
- Fucking garterbelts on MOST normal attire and armor - ex. Senya from Epic Seven. There's a lot of female characters from that game that suffer from this - even Bellona, who is one of my favorite characters in the game.
- Armor with just a leotard as pants - ex. Rose from Epic Seven - sorry for the abundance of E7 characters but yeah...
- Heels + armor MOST OF THE TIME. Very popular in some Skyrim armor mods - BTW that links to one of my favorite mods ever, it's so well done that the heels don't bother me as much but it was the first thing I thought of when I needed an example of what I'm talking about.
- Pokemon related only - the trend of making a Pokemon's shiny puke green. Dragonite is a popular example of this, especially since its previous two pre-evolutions are a pretty pink color!
Characters are listed in alphabetical order and most have my thoughts added. (Sometimes I'm just like "well i just like it" for some designs, haha.) Sorry about the repeating text on the ones with multiple images, I couldn't figure out how to get the tooltip to not disappear when you hovered over images for the same subject. I'm sure I could figure it out if I made changes to how the 'div' elements worked but this layout was a pain to set up so, yeah. Some images were de-"jpg artifacted" via Upscayl which was a great help for some of the images in the second section.

Altaria, Pokemon, Shiny Version ~ The regular color palette and overall design are great too but I just really like the bright gold with the puffy white clouds. This also applies to Swablu.
Back to Prehistory, Love Nikki ~ I remember doing the 'maze' quest to get this outfit and I was SO MAD that I didn't complete it. I missed the main outfit. :(
Blissey, Pokemon ~ I'm a sucker for angel wings so when Blissey first debuted I instantly wanted to have one in my Pokemon Gold team.

Chandelure, Pokemon ~ Not only is the design cool but its cry is really awesome! (Ugh, I can't figure out how to make this specific tooltip static so that I can link to the sound.) Of course, the design follows the lore of this pokemon very well...

Female Knight, Tactics Ogre ~ My favorite Tactics Ogre design, period. If there's ever a OB64 remake (hahahahahahahaahshdfjkdf no never) I REALLY HOPE that the job classes are not gender restrictive.

The Heartless One, Fear and Hunger 2 ~ Kinda a controversial pick because she doesn't "blend in" with the rest of the New Gods plus she's apparently a random fan's OC? But I like her design, the wings coming out during battle were cool and her skills are rose and thorn based. I wonder why she's on the advertisement for the musical in town?
Lanturn ~ One of my favorite pokemon! It has such a friendly expression which is totally unheard of with a lot of other anglerfish designs. (Like Donkey Kong Country...)

Mega-Pidgeot, Pokemon ~ It might seem like a boring design but I've always loved the Pidgey evolution line and was plesantly surprised when this Mega came out. It still look like a Pidgeot yet seems so much... grander, I guess.
Ninetales, Pokemon ~ Always been one of my favorites. I love the elegant and slightly mysterious look of the original Ninetales. (Alolan Ninetales is a good design too but I like the "hair" on the Kanto version better. It's like a long mohawk!)
Ozma Moh Glacius, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together ~ Her armor is so elegant and feminine yet is still practical for battle.
