I've never beaten this asshole before outside of a single NG+ game years and years ago. I have screenshots down below where I go into more detail.

Hardest Achivement: Our Planet's Dream is not Over Yet

I was also going to place the "recruiting Janice" cheevo here but that one is easy once you get some Dead Sea monsters.

Rarest Achievement: Fate has Fallen (4.39% Unlock Rate)

The "defeat Criosphinx" achievement only had 10 more people complete it. Also the Miguel achievement (defeat with any of your characters being KO'd) is easy-peasy with Diminish and a lot of healing elements. I used Lynx, Norris and Starky.

Playthrough Notes

First thing first - the achievement percentage is REALLY LOW because a lot of them are suited for New Game +. I'm probably not going to play any more of this game for a while but who knows.
I went with Guile to the manor and did not save Kid. Speaking of Kid I had to deny her first request to recruit Leena but she joined up in Termina.
Party during the early game was Serge / Mojo / Poshul. Then after the manor it was Serge / Glenn / Guile and Kid replaced Guile once she returned to the roster. My early party as Lynx was Lynx / Norris / Starky (sorry Harle) then Lynx / Fargo / Riddel. FINALLY I settled on Serge / Glenn / Orlha for the remainder of the game. Sometimes I switched out some characters - for example I took Marcy and Steena along for the second Dragonia Temple run - but those were the main parties.
All plates were stolen, Dario was beaten, Kid was saved from her coma and the best ending was recieved. I THINK that's all of the major choices in the late game covered.

The majority of these screenshots have been sharpened once I resized them so please enjoy all the charming jagged polygons of this game. :)

I really like the detailed status screens for the characters but god DAMN did the majority of the females' weight give me discomfort as a teen to read.

I always thought that it was Norris that gave Doc the Hydra Humour but apparently it COULD be Magus?

The Hydra Marshes are very pretty but damn do I hate this part of the game. Not only are the fairies complete assholes to you after you save them but I COULD NOT beat the gnome tank as a teenager and it put me off of playing this game for a good while.

On the plus side this is my favorite area in the game!

I was going to put 'oh to be a spriggan who just eats apples all day and naps' but honestly as pretty as this area is it would SUCK to live here.

But I survived and recruited Starky! Another favorite character of mine, he's adorable.

I have no idea if you can recruit Janice with your default monsters. If it's possible you'll need an unbelievable amount of luck to do so - there's probably a way to cheese it but I couldn't figure it out. As I mentioned in the first section this sidequest is much easier with monsters from the Dead Sea.

Radius does a weird lil' dance here that always makes me laugh.

... so this is how the Dario fight went... guess which character had the Black Plate on!

Apparently you can see a circular shadow on the floor during this scene and it's supposed to be the shadow of an invisible Magus watching over Kid? I didn't see it. In this shot you can see a shadow next to where Glenn is but *shrug* I only noticed it when making this page.

I'M GETTING IT AFTER THIS DUNGEON OKAY

The Dragon God fight is probably my favorite video game boss of all time, seriously. It's not a hard fight but it's so well made with the background music and changing scenery.

For the first time ever I decided to try to beat the Criosphinx WITHOUT going into a New Game +! I'm making this page a good while after I beat this game so I don't know the exact strategy but I THINK I had a Yellow Plate on Glenn and had him attack / heal with green elements only. I don't know where the blue element came from in the second screenshot, I'm sure I messed up and cast a blue spell hence the, uh, 10 HP.
